Is it possivble to convert the rear suspension from the axle beam to two stand alone in depedent coilovers with struts?

yes it can be done, and has been converted to IRS in the past. One car that i know that has had it done was an EP91 with a 4EFTE rear engine in the back. It had the front suspension setup in the rear (control arms) and had the chassis modified to accomodate it. I would estimate about $5000 AU to convert it.

There is a rumor that the Diahatsu Charade is the same chassis as the EP, something I suspect is true if you look at their basic shapes. Some Aussie said that you can use that rear suspension on the EP.
