Ignition timing

Does somebody know how to adjust ignition timing on a EP91?

Is ignition timing managed by the ecu?

Like every car there is dynamic timing (ECU) and static timing (distributor). The car uses the fixed position of the distributor as its reference for ECU advance/hold/retard. Therefore moving the distributor will alter timing across the board.

I got rid of my stock ecu as soon as i could so im limited with knowledge but from memory you can put the car in diagnostic mode which will lock the timing down... not sure if that helps you.

Otherwise there are two bolts on the dizzy (at front and at the back) and if you loosen them and rotoate the whole thing it will adjust it.

If you use diagnostic mode you'll set the static/base timing as determined by the distributor. This will not change the dynamic timing which is controlled by the ECU.

you bridge terminals E1 and TE1 in the diag connector, while the engine is running. the check engine light will flash while in this mode. then using a timing light and loosen the 2 bolts on the dizzy, and turn the dizzy till the timing is at 10 deg. this is the recommended setting, and what the ECU expects.

my honest opinion is........what hardcoreep and jezza said are very correct

BUT if u are asking the questions u posted.....my thoughts tell me u should not go messin around with timing/ignition at all..........as u may not know all that there is about it and could possibly destroy your engine-----word to the wise

might be best to let some1 who knows what they are doing handle this part
