Hey
I have a 1997 ep91 and im a little bored with the 4efe's power so i have tried to give it a bit more go. But i wont more :p
And it makes it a little hard without the option of goin turbo due to p-plate laws. So i am looking for some advice on what i can do to my 4efe to give it that little bit more kick.
What i have done so far
Pod filter.
Extractors.
2inch cat back exhaust.
16/6.5 Advanti rims.
I have been thinking of other things to do like cams, adjustable cam gears even quad throttle bodies but not sure. maybe just wait another four who years  until i have my full license so i can get a glanza cut.
So if any of you guys have some info on what i can do it would be much appreciated if you could give me a little help.
Thanks
you are very limited with that motor.
your best bet is to buy a 5efhe and bolt that in. You will enjoy the extra punch and is a good candidate to turbo later on.

As Gaz d asks what will be needed the 5-e engine, ecu??
Im waiting on a reply from ivan, i have also heard about having to use a 5eloom and the replacing a number of sensors in the engine.
the easiest way of doing it would be to replace the motor, wiring loom, computer and any anchillaries that need replacing.
I personally would not do it this way.
I would get a 5EFHE motor, replace just the motor (leaving the original 4e sensors - tps, vacuum, dizzy)
This would then use the 4efe computer to run the 5e.
From there i would get an Aftermarket computer (preferably standalone) but something cheap like an Emanage Ultimate to control the fuel/ignition, which would also allow you to fine tune it and allows other changes to the car.
You dont need much more than that.

haha that would help if i was in Ireland but in Australia so yea
an easier option is to use a 5efe, its a straight swap(meaing you dont have to fuck about with looms etc) and you can use your 4efe ecu
it also looks identical to the 4efe so no need to tell anyone about your extra powerz lol
its the most cost effective option to more power in your situation,
change the resistance of the quartz crystal in the ecu to increase the rev limit
fit a four branch inlet manifold from a jdm starlet/euro corrola, and bobs your uncle a peppy driving motor.
by 'tell anyone' you mean insurance ?? Haha
