Default Mods - Can they affect engine load sensing?

Do mods like after market mannies, lightened internals, or pod filters affect/alter the way the map sensor interprets engine load? In an auto can this translate to a change in gear shift points?

Im not sure actually but if they improve performance in any way it would have an effect on shift points.

internal mods definately can, cams are what will change it the most with a MAP sensored car. but a change in static CR (or dynamic CR, which is cams) is what can change the loads sensed by the ECU

bolt on mods shouldnt, but will probably take the ECU into parts of the tuning map it does not normally see with OEM parts.
