Very little differences internally. The main difference is in the turbocharger where the EP82 4E-FTE comes with a CT9a and the EP91 4E-FTE comes with a CT9b.
Take a look here: HardcoreEP's write-up on the EP82 vs. EP91 4E-FTEs. <--You'll need Shockwave to view the page.

So, according to this page i assume that the major changes between EP-82 and EP-91 are basically on the computer management isn`t it? Because these 10 hp on wheel referenced on this page should be coming frome somewhere, or the mechanical improvement make that amount of power?

By the way, Excellent page, congratulations for the guy who did that.

i have another question, look i have a EP-90 starlet, i want to buy a EP-82 engine with a/t tranny. What shoul i replace to put the engine in optimal condition? or what ahouold i be aware of?

    Thanks again

    Best Regards

While the engine is out I'd recommend you renew as many items as possible. It's much easier than working at it when it is fitted.

Waterpump, belts, filters, thermostat, gaskets and manifold are all on the list. I'd advise replacing the crankshaft seals as a precautionary measure.

91,000km isn't much for a 4EFTE in my experience. I know of 200,000 examples still boosting strong but be prepared to replace the turbo if has had a hard life (unlikely in an auto) and an exhaust manifold as they are prone to cracking.

Overall it is a good conversion with worthy power gains.
