So Ivan, correct me if I am wrong here (or missed anything). I have a complete 4efte (with a damaged crankshaft). All I need for a 5efte conversion is Block, crank and conrods from a 5efhe, right? All else I will get from the 4efte I already have, correct? can you see any problem areas?

(Ivan found the info I needed in technical, so disregard this post. Apologies)

we dont discuss that here. Its expected to upgrade that stuff even with a 4EFTE motor with mods.

Yes, that would be correct if I was chasing big horsepower. It is my daily car and I am trying to increase my HP safely and within my means. To be able to have a little fun when I can (not as often as i'd like)

but yes fuel sys. upgrade, manny upgrade and after-market ECU are definately on the cards. (plus i'd like to be the only person in PNG to have a 5efte!)
